*A Boeing Co. 737-800 NG plane operated by China Eastern Airlines Corp. crashed Monday in the southwestern Chinese province of Guangxi. China Eastern Airlines said it will ground all of its Boeing 737-800 jets starting Tuesday and denied the rumor regarding it strictly controlling maintenance expenditure to reduce costs under huge losses pressure and says it discloses in the annual report that 2021 maintenance expenditure grew by 12% from that of 2019.

* Global oil prices mostly closed up as May contract of WTI rose by 3.99%, quoted at $107.2/barrel, increased for three consecutive days. Likewise, June contract of Brent shifted up by 7.48%, closed at $112.93/barrel. Supply concerns plus that several EU countries have imposed new sanctions against Russia have boosted oil prices.
* COMEX gold futures closed lower to $1,925.3 per ounce with 0.21% decline, while COMEX silver futures settle at $25.15 per ounce with 0.25% increase. Powell said the Fed will take necessary measures to curb inflation, representing that the pace of interest rate hikes might be accelerated.
* For the night session of March 22, commodities market mostly closed up for chemical and energy sector went up strongly, low sulfur fuel oil surged by 5.69%, fuel oil closed 5.11% higher. Both LPG and methanol added more than 2%. Black series closed mixed as thermal coal rose close to 1%, while coke and iron ore slipped 0.81% and 0.78% lower respectively. In terms of agricultural products, rapeseed meal climbed by 3.7%, hit the new recorded high. Soybean meal inched up by 2.23%, No.2 soybean and palm oil both settled with more than 1% increase.
* LME metals closed mixed with LME copper fell by 0.6% to $102,69.5/ton, LME zinc up by 2.42% to $3,918.5/ton, LME nickel slumped by 14.99% to $31,380/ton, LME aluminum up by 4.17% to $3,522/ton, LME tin shifted 0.96% lower to $42,900/ ton, and LME lead closed down with 0.09% decrease to $2,250.5/ton.
