*Offshore yuan against US dollar dropped over 420bps to 7.267, new low in recent days.

 

Industrial Economy

*CPCAAUTO: retail sales of passenger vehicles in the first half month of Oct of 693k units, down 3% y/y and up 1% m/m with wholesale of 700k units, up 6% y/y and down 11% m/m.

*Several banks held meeting in discussion of key work in Q4 which list credit injection as key task and issued measures include ease credit entry barrier in key fields, lower corporate loan rate and improve efficiency of investigation.

*Shanxi Ministry of Housing and 3 other departments jointly issued opinions encouraging participation of private firms in public facility industry and private capital will be allowed for direct investment in operation of urban gas, heating and garage disposal.

*Ningbo city issued notice of residence registration which cancelled requirement of social insurance payment and said residential settlement is allowed if any lawful houses registered under family name.

* Precious metals closed down collectively. COMEX gold contract down 1.3% to closed at $ 1634.3/oz. SHFE gold active contract down 0.37% to closed at 389.34 yuan/gram.

* Metals closed mixed. LME zinc up 1.29%, LME tin up 1.26%, LME lead up 0.89%, LME copper down 0.75%. SHFE zinc up 1.7%, SHFE nickel up 1.6%, SHFE tin down 0.81%.

* Commodity futures closed down mostly. Energy & chemistry futures saw mixed performance, fuel oil up 3.18%, LPG up 2.37%, methanol up 1.47%, EB up 1.42%, natural rubber down 2.05%, TSR 20 down 2.01%. Black series closed down collectively, coke down 1.36%, iron ore down 1.31%, coking coal down 1.15%, steel rebar down 0.98%. Agricultural products went up mostly, RBD palm olein up 2.06%.
