-The Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and other multiple departments have issued the Action Plan for Shanghai to Accelerate Food Science and Technology Innovation to Empower Industrial Development (2026–2030), which points out that support will be given to the research and development of new types of food such as alternative proteins, cultured meat, artificial milk, 3D-printed food, and algae.

-Affected by the decline in international oil prices, starting from 24:00 on December 22, the domestic retail prices of gasoline and diesel will be reduced by 170 yuan per ton and 165 yuan per ton respectively, marking the final price adjustment of this year.

Financial

-CFFEX issued a notice to reduce the delivery fee of index futures and treasury bond futures and exercise (performance) handling fee of index options from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026 by half, except for high-frequency traders recognized by the exchange.

-Hong Kong will prioritize the development of its gold market next year. By establishing a gold trading center in Hong Kong, it will enhance cooperation with the Shanghai Gold Exchange in gold trading and with Shenzhen in smelting, so as to promote the coordinated development of the region.

-The Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing Stock Exchanges have issued the trading suspension arrangements for some public holidays in 2026.
