– The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea has denied recent rumors, stating that the South Korean government is not pushing to establish a new think tank to tap into the massive profits reaped by chipmakers amid the global artificial intelligence boom.

– According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, China’s total import and export volume of services reached 3.09948 trillion yuan in the January-May period, representing a year-on-year increase of 6%. Of this total, service exports stood at 1.23046 trillion yuan, up 15.9%, while service imports hit 1.86902 trillion yuan, rising by 0.4%. The deficit in trade in services amounted to 638.56 billion yuan, a reduction of 160.72 billion yuan compared with the same period last year.
 
– Data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) shows that the added value of electronic information manufacturing enterprises above designated size rose by 14.6% y/y in the January-May period. This growth rate was 9.2 percentage points and 1.5 percentage points higher than that of overall industry and high-tech manufacturing respectively over the same period. In May alone, the added value of electronic information manufacturing enterprises above designated size increased by 17% y/y.
