-When responding to questions raised by US Treasury Secretary Bessent regarding China’s trade surplus, Guo Jiakun, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that ChinaUS economic and trade relations are mutually beneficial and winwin in nature. China never deliberately pursues a trade surplus and opposes unilateral tariff measures in all forms.

-China’s manufacturing sentiment improved markedly in August, yet overall economic activity remained below the boombust line. In August, China’s manufacturing PMI came in at 49.8%, up 0.6 percentage points from the previous month. The non manufacturing PMI stood at 49.0%, unchanged month on month. The composite PMI output index registered 49.5%, rising by 0.2 percentage points compared with the prior month.
 
-The 2026 interim report disclosure season for Ashare listed companies has officially concluded. Data shows that Ashare listed companies recorded a combined net profit attributable to parent companies of 3.58 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, representing a year on year increase of 19.4%. A total of 74.5% of the firms turned profitable, and among these profitable companies, 43.4% posted positive year on year growth in net profit.
 
-Customs data shows that in the first seven months of this year, China’s imports and exports with other SCO member states reached 2.42 trillion yuan, rising by 14.9% year on year. Bilateral cooperation has demonstrated strong resilience and vitality.
