*According to the Iranian military, three British and American oil tankers were attacked in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz on the 2nd.
 
*On March 2nd, Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi at the latter’s request. China publicly expressed its position of justice and fairness, hoping to continue playing a positive role in avoiding further escalation of regional tensions. China supports Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and national dignity, and in protecting its legitimate rights and interests. Wang Yi stated that China has urged the United States and Israel to immediately cease military actions to prevent further escalation of tensions and avert the expansion and spread of war across the entire Middle East region. He expressed confidence that under the current severe and complex situation, Iran can maintain national and social stability, attach importance to the legitimate concerns of neighboring countries, and ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in Iran.

*MIIT and other three departments jointly issued the “Several Opinions on Accelerating the High-Quality Development of Tech Insurance to Effectively Support High-Level Technological Self-Reliance and Self-Improvement”, which states that insurance funds are encouraged to provide key support to enterprises undertaking major national science and technology projects, and to strengthen investment in emerging and future industries.
 
*The Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences, in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made significant progress in the research of solid-state quantum light sources, successfully developing a high-efficiency, high-purity biphoton emitter. The relevant research findings were published in the international journal Nature Materials on the same day.
